Logo?
I notice that the end of the tail of the rooster is missing. Could I suggest using the offline logo? However it is difficult to actually get hold of the logo. I have it at home so tonight I will upload it... Cheers, Smashman 02:52, 14 September 2007 (EDT)
It's here!
You can resize on Photoshop to any size.
I got bored and made this

That list is getting pretty long. KWierso 15:29, 13 September 2007 (EDT)
- How did it go from 135 to 187 in one day?
It would appear that most of those are pages relating to people. However, they are not being sent to User pages. On the flip side, many of those people also haven't signed up. Mexcello 00:48, 15 September 2007 (EDT)
Because people create articles that contain something significant and make an internal link because they want a page. I think I added 20-30 today when I made articles. Leo 00:52, 15 September 2007 (EDT)
Prettified Featured page header?
If we used something like this, it would automagically update the date for the featured article section. It would also add a bit of formatting to the page besides the various headers using the == == stuff, including boxing it off from the rest of the page. (Note: It was taken almost directly off of Wikipedia's main page, with very minor tweaking/trimming)

See red section of graph on my user page for reason why this hasn't been done already.
I'm trying to be clever and make my own style sheet for this rather than just directly ripping off Wikipedia's because I don't want this to just be a direct Wikipedia clone. That said, eventually I'll probably just say screw it and go with tables. Also, I'm still looking into more scripts and plug-ins for the site, specifically something to automate the Featured Article bit so it doesn't have to be manually inputted each morning. Although we do need more content before something like that ban be done without having retarded articles on the main page.
That said, PLEASE keep messing around with stuff like that; there's a good chance that I might get frustrated and say hey, use your version. Or if yours just looks better than anything I can come up with. I have no problem with saying, "Hey, yours is better; let's use that one." - Whisper
Link Uniformity?
I've noticed that across the site, the links are mixed as to user profile vs. user wiki pages when a person's name appears in an entry. Any thoughts on making them uniformly link to the user wiki pages, and having those user entries link to the profiles on RT? --Dark54555 14:20, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- That sounds like a good idea. If a person doesn't have a wiki user page, maybe link directly to the RT account. (Or just leave it linkless until said user comes to Roosterpedia...) KWierso 15:06, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- To that end, I made a few edits. --Dark54555 16:11, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Also to that end, I suppose there should be some uniformity between the mods, as some have pages and others have user pages (and some have both).
- I think it should link to an article only if that person doesn't have a user page. That would sure cut the size of the wanted pages list... KWierso 16:16, 12 September 2007 (EDT)
- Most of the mods already have pages, and I think most of the people who have pages that aren't "user pages" are re-directing from user pages. --Dark54555 16:21, 12 September 2007 (EDT)
- I'd say that 1/4 of the 138 wanted pages go to articles for users. I could try going through and redirecting them to existing pages, but that could take a while. KWierso 17:05, 12 September 2007 (EDT)
- Only staff members/site moderators/truly remarkable members should have articles. Everybody else should be using their profile pages. If you find an article about a user that isn't staff/mod/somebody uniquely awesome, move the article to their profile page and leave them a note. Correct links as necessary. All of this will be formally announced... eventually. During the week, I have little to no free time, so. Stuff accumulates until the weekend. Whisper 17:32, 12 September 2007 (EDT)
On Wikipedia there's a template that makes external links very simple. Instead of IMDbURL Star Trek you can enter this template that's something like Number and it'll do the external link automatically. I use a similar template on Memory-Alpha all the time. It's something like Star Trek and it'll go right to Wikipedia. It looks like an internal link but is really an external link. Could one of us design a similar template for linking to RT/RvB/SH/P/18M.com? I'd do it myself but I've never had the time to figure it out. I was thinking something like whatever word and that could link the word to whatever thread on RvB.com. Another template could be whatever word and that'll go right to the user's page. That way people don't really have to copy and paste the full URL and change it if that's not the tab they use. You can check this trivia section for plenty of examples.
Memory-Alpha also has a template for user signatures so intead of manually putting in your name, the time, and the date you just put in --~~~ and the site does it all automatically. ART 23:00, 19 September 2007 (PST)
Actually, just the other day, Whisper notified us all that inter-wiki is now possible. It's on the Current Events page along with the codes we need for it to work for Wikipedia, ED, etc. Mexcello 02:37, 20 September 2007 (EDT)
- ~~~~ does make a signature here, too. Also, getting it to work with Rooster Teeth links would be interesting, as most of them are just numbers, and it would be just as easy to copy the full URL to the desired page. KWierso 03:26, 20 September 2007 (EDT)
- It is like the Interwiki links. Excpet they go to non-wiki sites like IMDb, RvB, etc.
- Sure it's just as easy to copy and paste the whole URL but then it's more difficult to create Uniformity. There's going to be plenty of people who just copy and paste the URL without bothering with Uniformity. At least with a template the site will do it automatically and then it doesn't matter which tab they copy and paste it from it'll all go to the same one anyways. And ~~~ does make your User name but --~~~ puts the timestamp in addition to your name. ARTaylor
Wow
I love how someone edited me in the front page and how a moderator defaced my user page. Awesome. /sarcasm Leo 16:56, 13 September 2007 (EDT)
Categories?
Should we be using more categories on articles? I've seen some people using "stub" and a few of the famous users are categorized. Should the moderator, staff pages have a category? Avatar trends? Podcasts? Any thoughts on this? --Dark54555 19:31, 14 September 2007 (EDT)
It certainly doesn't seem like a bad idea to me, as there are certain items out there that really don't need more elaboration but fit into a larger group in one form or another. Better organization of pages certainly would make navigation a lot less awkward. Ragingterror 20:57, 14 September 2007 (EDT)
We definitely need to be more organized. To do that, yes, we need categories.. I was thinking about categories for threads, events, and famous users. Of course, the list goes on and on. Also, once we do that, we need to link them to the main page. I'm already getting tired of using the search function to look up every single article. --Penguinist 22:43, 15 January 2008 (EST)
There. I categorized all of the threads I could find. Someone should finish up any that I may have missed.--Penguinist 23:07, 15 January 2008 (EST)
Rule
I think somewhere on the main page it should say you are not allowed to make an article about yourself, you are only allowed to edit your user page. For instance Roneman90 made a page about himself, redirect his user page to that, and then edited his name into the Famous User page. Is there a way to make it where you have to be an established user (I.e been on the site for a certain amount of time, made "x" amount of edits , and "x" amount of pages before you can edit certain articles?
